Certified Community Interpreting

Community-based interpreters for legal, medical, educational, and social services interpreting require specialty training, certification, and/or experience.

The community interpreter focuses on the delivery of accurate messages, enabling communication between a non-English speaker and a service provider. Community-based interpreting most often uses consecutive, dialogue-like interpreting and is the most frequent form of interpreting requested in face-to-face, over-the-phone, and/or video interpreting sessions.

All Languages is certified to provide services in accordance with the National Standard Guide for Community Interpreting Services (NSGCIS), with audits ensuring conformance with both the European LICS-CISP (Language Industry Certification System–Community Interpreting Service Provider) and Canadian AILIA-NSGCIS (L’Association de l’industrie de la langue/Language Industry Association) standards. We encourage you to consider the risks of working with an unqualified provider and the benefits that can be obtained by using certified, quality community interpreting.
