Healthcare and Social Services Interpreting

Interpreters specializing in healthcare are often required to work in hospitals, clinics, community healthcare centres, emergency rooms, mental health facilities and long-term care facilities, and they may also be required in social service settings.
They interpret in a wide variety of situations such as in-patient care, psychiatric evaluations, social services visits, and treatments.
Evaluation of the effect of language proficiency on length of time required shows that it is more cost effective to retain interpreters than to proceed in their absence. Language barriers affect outcomes for persons with Limited English Proficiency, possibly leading to misdiagnosis, wrong treatment, inappropriate referrals, unjust outcomes, and/or longer processes.
All Languages interpreters can help.
