Localization

Globalization has necessitated a shift in the way we all do business.
To remain competitive, products and services need to be well-adapted and provided in multiple languages. Localization involves taking a product or service and making it linguistically and culturally appropriate for the local market in which it will be used and sold. As an example, a translator may need to convert the figures and measurements when describing the size of product for a different marketplace. The translator should also advise the project coordinator that a change was required or made within the document.
